3 Nokia phones Launched in India- Specs, Price & Availability

The Finnish multinational after selling its business to Microsoft is now back with their new smartphones in Indian market. The Nokia 3310 is already on sale in India via offline retail stores for Rs. 3,310. Talking about the new Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 will be available via offline stores, whereas the Nokia 6 is made exclusive to Amazon India. The devices will be running on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with close to stock UI.

Nokia 6.

The costliest of all, Nokia 6 was first launched in China in 2016. It comes with a unibody metal design and sports a 2.5D glass on the front. It comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top.gsmarena_002

It runs on Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It is expected to launch at a price of Rs. 14,999. Considering the price, the entry level SnapDragon 430 may look a bit shady because of the fact that many Chinese vendors are offering SnapDragon 625’s at that price point. There is also 32GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable using the MicroSD card slot. The physical home button placed beneath the display also features an active fingerprint sensor. It has a 3,000mAh Li-ion non-removable battery. In the camera department, there is a 16MP rear sensor with PDAF and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. This dual SIM device also sports dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support for providing better audio experience. The Nokia 6 is expected to be priced at Rs. 14,999.

Nokia 5

The second phone after Nokia6 which is targeted at the 10-15k audience is an affordable device and comes with the full metal body but with a smaller 5.2-inch display. The display panel on this device come with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and offers 500 nits of brightness. Under the hood, the Nokia 5 comes with the same Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor as seen on the Nokia 6. It includes just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Nokia-5-Main-Article-2

The device lacks the high-end specifications as seen on the Chinese devices retailing in the same price range. It comes with a fingerprint sensor and also offers the NFC connectivity for sharing. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for using with the Jio 4G SIM. It is equipped with a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. The 8MP selfie camera remains same as on the Nokia 6 with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. Also, it comes with the same 3,000mAh battery as of Nokia 6. The Nokia 5 is expected to be priced at Rs. 12,899.

Nokia 3

The cheapest of all, Nokia 3 is the most affordable device and comes with a polycarbonate shell. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.  It also has a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.Nokia-3-Beautyshot-all

There is an 8MP autofocus camera on the front and rear of the device with  f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens equipped with a single LED flashlight at the back. The 2,630mAh non-removable battery on this device should give decent battery life. The Nokia 3 is expected to be priced at Rs. 9,499.

All the above smartphones are VoLTE enabled and should work perfectly with JIO 4G.

Overall the offerings from Nokia seems to be decent considering the “Tier-1” status of the brand.

The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 will be available via offline stores across the country. The Nokia 5 goes on sale from July 7th, while the sales of affordable Nokia 3 start from June 16th. The Nokia 6 will be Amazon exclusive in India and registrations for the flash sales start from July 14th.
