AMD Ryzen PRO!

A few months back AMD launched its Ryzen series to take on Intel’s Core i7/9 series in consumer grade market and now AMD has come up with its new lineup called The Ryzen PRO for the enterprise users.

According to the AMD’s official website total of six Ryzen PRo’s has been unveiled till now.

  1.  AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 1700X
  2. AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 1700
  3. AMD Ryzen™ 5 PRO 1600
  4. AMD Ryzen™ 5 PRO 1500
  5. AMD Ryzen™ 3 PRO 1300
  6. AMD Ryzen™ 3 PRO 1200

AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 1700X/ 1700

Both of them are top of the line true Octa-core CPUs based on 14nm fabrication process. Both have 4&16MB of L2 and L3 cache respectively. Now the difference lies in the base and turbo clock speeds. The PRO 1700X has a base clock speed of 3.4Ghz which goes upto 3.8Ghz in turbo configurations whereas the PRO 1700 sports 3.0Ghz as a base clock and 3.7Ghz in turbo mode. The difference also lies in power consumption. 1700X has been rated at 95W whereas 1700 has 65W default TDP.

AMD Ryzen™ 5 PRO 1600/ 1500

The PRO 1600 is a hexacore processor whereas PRO 1500 is a quad-core chip. The PRO 1600 has a base clock speed of 3.2 GHz which can go upto 3.6GHz in turbo mode. On the other hand, PRO 1500 is clocked at 3.5GHz which can be boosted upto 3.7GHz. Both have same 65W rated TDP.

AMD Ryzen™ 3 PRO 1300/1200

Both are the cheapest processors that AMD has offered. The Ryzen PRO 1300 is a quad-core chip clocked at 3.5GHz with turbo boost upto 3.7GHz. The PRO 1200 is also a quad core processor but with a base clock of 3.1GHz and 3.4Ghz at turbo boost. Both are rated at 65W.

AMD claims that Ryzen™ PRO has been engineered with built-in security to enable nonstop productivity for even the most demanding workforce while protecting an organisation’s critical data.
